Daily Restore (“we”, “us”) operates dailyrestore.eu. We keep data collection minimal by design: this is an educational publication, and reading it requires giving us nothing. This policy explains what limited data we do process, why, and your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What we collect, and why
Reading the site: essentially nothing personal. You can read every page without an account or registration. Our web server and hosting provider (based in Switzerland, which benefits from a European Commission adequacy decision under GDPR) process technical data inherent to serving any website — IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps — in server logs, for security and stability. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in operating a secure website. Retention: 30 days.
The Restore Letter (newsletter). If you subscribe, we process your email address to send you the newsletter, using double opt-in (you confirm via email before being subscribed). Provider: Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, Paris, France — EU-based). Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), withdrawable any time via the unsubscribe link in every email or by contacting us. Retention: until you unsubscribe, plus a suppression record so we don’t email you again. We do not track email opens or clicks.
Contacting us. If you email us, we process your address and message content to respond. Legal basis: legitimate interest in handling correspondence (Art. 6(1)(f)). Retention: up to 2 years, then deleted unless needed longer for a legal reason.
Fonts, media and embeds. Our fonts are self-hosted; visiting our pages makes no connection to Google Fonts or similar font CDNs. If an article embeds third-party content (e.g. a video), that provider may process your data when the embed loads; where possible we use privacy-enhanced embed modes, and the embed provider’s own policy applies.
Cookies and analytics
We use a self-hosted, cookieless analytics tool (Matomo, hosted on our own European server) to understand aggregate site usage. It sets no cookies, collects no cross-site identifiers, and all data is anonymised and aggregated — no individual visitor is identifiable. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)). No consent banner is required for this configuration.
The only other cookies set are strictly necessary technical cookies (e.g. for logged-in administration), which require no consent.
Who we share data with
We do not sell or trade personal data. Data is shared only with the processors needed to run the site — our hosting provider (Switzerland, adequacy decision) and Brevo for email delivery (EU-based, GDPR data-processing agreement in place) — and with authorities where the law requires it.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us at any time for: access to your data (Art. 15), correction (Art. 16), deletion (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), and to object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21). Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it any time without affecting prior processing. To exercise any right, email hello@dailyrestore.eu — we respond within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; in Belgium this is the Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données (www.dataprotectionauthority.be), or the authority of your own EU country.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures: HTTPS across the site, access controls, kept-updated software, and minimal data collection as the first line of defense — data we never collect can’t be breached.
Minors
Our content is aimed at adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children; if you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our practices change — notably when our shop launches, which will add payment, order and shipping processing under its own detailed sections. The date above always reflects the current version.
